Engineered for Irish Gardens (No Concrete Needed!) We know that digging up your lawn and pouring concrete is a massive hassle. Thanks to its innovative underground frame design, the BERG PlayBase is incredibly stable with minimal excavation. You simply dig the trench, sink the wide base into the ground, and cover it up—no concrete required! Built from thick, 89mm galvanized steel with a heavy-duty anti-corrosion coating, it is fully weatherproofed to withstand the damp Irish climate.

A Size for Every Space At Koala Play, we stock the full PlayBase range to suit any garden footprint. Choose the Medium PlayBase (285cm wide) for compact areas, or upgrade to the Large PlayBase (380cm wide) or Extra Large to mount multiple accessories at the exact same time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need concrete to install the BERG PlayBase?

No! Thanks to its wide, innovative underground base design, the PlayBase does not require any poured concrete. You simply dig a trench, place the frame inside, use a spirit level to ensure it is perfectly straight, and pack the soil tightly back over the base.

How much weight can the BERG PlayBase hold?

The heavy-duty 89mm steel frame is incredibly robust and can support a total frame weight of up to 400kg. Individual accessories (like swings, pull-up bars, and dip bars) typically support up to 100kg per user, making it completely safe and sturdy for both children and adults to use.

Can I leave the PlayBase accessories out in the rain?

The BERG PlayBase frame itself is fully galvanized and powder-coated to prevent rust in the Irish weather. However, to prolong the lifespan of fabric-based or wooden accessories (like the hammock, boxing bag, or wooden swings), we highly recommend unclipping them and bringing them indoors during heavy rain or harsh winter months.
